Requirements, Responsbilities, and Costs
Our club is made up of riders of all abilities. Whether you’ve never touched a horse or you’ve been riding since you could walk, what counts is your interest in these animals and your willingness to learn. We welcome members of all years, levels, and backgrounds.

Each rider is expected to attend their scheduled lessons and various team events, such as barn clean-up days. Members are also responsible for participating in fundraisers each semester. Other social events are optional, but they're always a lot of fun!
Everyone in the club has the option to compete in shows during the year. For more information about competing, see the IHSA page.
We try to keep costs as low as possible to allow more people the opportunity to join. Each member must participate in our Cedar Point fundraising weekend OR pay dues for each semester (generally around $200). In addition, each member is responsible for their individual $45 IHSA registration fee. Members are also responsible for lesson fees, which are usually $50 per lesson (sometimes varies depending on level of experience). Financial aid is available for those in need, and can be discussed with the captain before making any financial commitments.

Finally, riders are expected to provide their own helmet, pants, and boots, although team equipment is available to borrow for those who don’t have their own and/or are just starting out.
